Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport

Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport is also known as Surcin Airport by the local population, which is where the airport is located. In 2006 the airport was named after Nikola Tesla, a Serbian engineer and inventor noted for his advanced ideas that where truly ahead of his time. Tesla was most known for his involvement in the development of the X-Ray machine, transmission of electrical power, and the radio.

The airport has two terminals:

T1 is the original terminal which is used for domestic flights, and

T2 is a new terminal for international flights.

The airport is 18 kilometers (11.25 miles) from the center of Belgrade along the motorway E70 (Belgrade – Zagreb). Special shuttle buses leave every hour from the airport to the Slavija-square in the centre of Belgrade, via the Fontana-square and the Central Station. A ticket costs DIN 160. Bus line 72 also goes to the centre of the city and costs DIN 65.
